Feature Campaign - You Think You Know Walt Disney World
DT
Helping Disney Parks increase intent on YouTube
When Disney wanted to explore a new way of engaging German audiences on YouTube, the challenge wasn’t simply to produce another travel vlog.
The opportunity was to create a scalable content format that combined authentic storytelling with genuinely useful planning advice—helping future guests understand what a Walt Disney World holiday is really like, while remaining efficient enough to produce across multiple destinations.
Thresh Productions developed the creative approach, production framework and delivered a five-part YouTube series filmed entirely on-location at Walt Disney World.
The result was a production model designed around one principle:
High-value storytelling doesn’t always require high-end production.
The Challenge
Traditional destination content often falls into one of two categories:
Highly polished brand films that are expensive to produce.
Creator vlogs that feel authentic but lack strategic structure.
The objective was to bridge both worlds.
Create content that felt genuine and personal, whilst still delivering the practical information guests actively search for before booking a Disney holiday.
The Approach
Rather than relying on a large production crew, the series was intentionally designed around a low-fi, social-first production model.
Using lightweight equipment and a streamlined workflow allowed more time to be spent capturing authentic moments inside the parks rather than managing production logistics.
The format combined:
Hosted narrative pieces to camera
Cinematic park B-roll
Search-led planning advice
Story-driven editing
Native YouTube pacing
Content designed to be translated for international markets
Every creative decision served both the audience and the production efficiency.
Deliverables
The final project included:
- 5 long-form YouTube episodes
- Multi-day storytelling structure
- Coverage across all four Walt Disney World theme parks
- Hotel and resort content
- Practical planning advice for German travellers
- Low-fi production from a solo creator setup
- Full post-production and editing
Why It Worked
The project demonstrated that destination marketing doesn’t need to choose between authenticity and quality.
A carefully planned creative framework made it possible to deliver premium-feeling content with a lean production approach—reducing complexity whilst maintaining the emotional storytelling audiences expect from Disney.
For brands, that means:
- Faster production
- Lower costs
- More scalable content
- Authentic social-first storytelling
- Assets designed for multiple markets
